Golden Comet
ChickenA type of Sex Link.
Same type of bird as Red Star (sex Link), Cinnamon Queen, ISA Brown and Hy-Line Brown — all red sex-links, sold under different names by different hatcheries.

The Golden Comet is a brown-egg sex-link sold by most large US hatcheries as a beginner's layer, and it earns the billing: hens start young, lay 250 to 320 eggs a year, and are consistently gentle with children. Chicks sex by colour at hatch, pullets buff-red and cockerels near-white, so straight-run surprises are rare. Like other production hybrids they lay hardest through the first two years and taper sooner than a heritage breed. The name is a trade designation rather than a standardised breed, and the cross behind it varies between hatcheries.
