Hy-Line Brown
ChickenA type of Sex Link.
Same type of bird as Golden Comet, Red Star (sex Link), Cinnamon Queen and ISA Brown — all red sex-links, sold under different names by different hatcheries.

The Hy-Line Brown is a commercial brown-egg layer bred by Hy-Line International, one of the handful of companies that supply laying-hen genetics to egg farms worldwide. Hy-Line's management guide puts a flock at about 253–262 eggs per hen housed by 60 weeks of age and 453–467 by 100 weeks, from a light hen of barely 4–4½ lb. That output comes from a bird built for a production career rather than a long life: like other commercial sex-links, expect heavy laying for two or three years and little broodiness. It is sold as sexed pullets, and there is no rooster to breed from — a flock is replaced, not hatched.
