The Tetra Tint is a Hungarian-developed hybrid laying 250 to 300 eggs a year in a pale cream to lightly tinted shell — the tint of the name, sitting between a white and a brown egg. Hens are white with light flecking, docile, and efficient on feed. They suit a keeper who wants a varied egg basket without adding a separate white-egg breed. It is a proprietary line and the cross behind it is not published.
