The Swedish Flower Hen — Skånsk blommehöna — is a Swedish landrace that came close to extinction in the 1970s before being rebuilt from a handful of surviving village flocks. The name describes the plumage: a base colour mottled with white-tipped feathers that read like scattered petals, different on every bird. Hens lay 150 to 200 tinted eggs a year, are calm and curious with people, and forage capably. Some lines carry a small crest, and numbers outside Scandinavia remain low.
